Grown in the himalayas.

Our Organic Green Tea is grown in Darjeeling, located 6500 ft in the foothills of the Himalayas. It develops a unique flavour from the pristine environment. Darjeeling has the perfect confluence of elements to make a delicate tea, marrying gentle, aromatic flavours with the clean taste of a traditional green tea

Unlike many green teas, ours is hand plucked, certified organic and processed using a traditional method of steaming and sun-drying.

The journey

At the Organic Tea Project, we are avid tea drinkers. Our usual steeping technique is to heat a single serve teapot with boiling water then empty and pour in hot water again, adding two teaspoons and brewing for 4 minutes.

In making green tea, it is crucial to add a dash of cold into the boiled water as steeping too hot or for too long results in the release of excessive amounts of tannins, leading to a bitter, astringent brew.

Green Tea, the hardest tea to brew.

History of the blend

Green Tea dates back to 600AD, originating in China. The fermentation process is arrested by steaming the tea, which allows the leaves to retain their natural green colour as well as high levels of antioxidants. Green tea has huge benefits for health and well-being.
