From 28 Blends to One Perfect Cup

What it took to create a Breakfast Tea worth switching for.

If you’re someone who knows what you like when it comes to tea, we get it. A good Breakfast blend isn’t just strong—it has to feel balanced. It should wake you up without being brash, work with or without milk, and taste just as good on a slow weekend morning as it does in the middle of a busy Tuesday.

When we set out to create our Organic Breakfast Tea, we weren’t just making another blend. We were crafting someone’s daily ritual.

A Blend Years in the Making

We didn’t want just a good English Breakfast. We wanted one that could hold its own against anyone’s long-time favourite.

That meant:

  • Tasting over two dozen trial blends

  • Tracking flavour variations through different harvests

  • Adjusting colour, cut, malt, and astringency

  • Returning to the garden again and again until it was just right

The final blend combines Assam and Nilgiri—two regions with complementary strengths. Assam brings depth and malt, Nilgiri brings brightness and lift. The broken-leaf format offers rich colour and strength without bitterness.

Claudia Karvan’s Conversion Story

Actor Claudia Karvan summed it up beautifully:

“Even though I believe I’m someone who can embrace change, I was stubborn about trying a tea alternative to my familiar tea… Now I’m ordering wholesale off the website. I carry it in canisters wherever I go. I literally don’t leave home without it.”

We love this story because it reflects what we hoped for: that our Breakfast blend would quietly convert even the most particular tea drinkers.

Clean, Pure, and Traceable

Every batch is tested for over 500 chemical residues. We work directly with organic tea gardens in Assam and Nilgiri—no auctions, no middlemen. That means your tea is traceable, clean, and incredibly fresh.

Brew It Your Way

  • Each pyramid bag holds a full teaspoon of whole leaf tea—perfect for one cup

  • Loose leaf lovers can follow the classic: one for you, one for the pot

  • The pyramid shape lets the leaves unfurl fully, unlocking full flavour without bitterness
